Foods to Avoid to Lose Belly Fat
Foods to Avoid to Lose Belly Fat
Article by Yossi Callomiti
One of the hardest to achieve goals if they try to lose weight is to lose belly fat. It is rather easy to lose weight because you can use a variety of brute force methods to force the weight down but the same can’t be said about your belly fat. They have much to lose pounds and have a dog belly.
Work with your body to lose belly fat
This is because the belly is the last bastion of fat storage. This is your fat reserves that take in case of famine. The body is not going to let go of it that easily. Your body will fight tooth and nail to hold on to the belly fat.
Diet plays an important role in losing weight as you eventually become what you eat. So here are some food that you should avoid to help your efforts in losing belly fat. This is because refined carbohydrates release a rush of sugar into the blood stream which requires more than normal insulin. When excess insulin is released into the body, it stays in the body longer and that’s where the problems begin. Insulin is a potent fat storage hormone. In the presence of an excess of insulin, your body into a fat storage machine, but as a fat burning machine.
Liquid calories
Liquid calories is any type of calories that is available in liquid form. It could be drinking your milk or lemonade. When consumed, these drinks provide a flood of energy since liquids do not need much digesting. The excess energy gets stored as fat in all areas of the body including the belly. When you eat a sausage, you are probably displacing an egg which has more nutritional value. These processed meat also have lots of additives which can disrupt the delicate hormonal balance in the body. Milk spikes insulin as well since it is a form of carbohydrate. Low-fat milk or regular massive insulin spikes. Regular milk contains high levels of saturated fat. Against this background, the milk is best avoided until you reach your weight loss goals.
Alcohol
It is best that you abstain from alcohol until you get a toned and flat stomach. Even one drink of alcohol completely compromise the fat burning for up to 24 hours. Alcohol also disrupts the hormonal balance in the body.
Junk or fast food
Junk or fast food displace other healthy food that you might otherwise eat. Junk and fast food usually have a high calorie density. By the time you do get signals that you are full, you would have over eaten. It is better to eat apple than to drink apple juice or to eat apple pie.
Choose your diet carefully. Take the used to remove these unhealthy foods from your life. At the same time you must consume healthy and wholesome food. Do not forget exercise as an integral part of the lose belly fat.

Is Estrogen Really Making Your Belly FAT?
Is Estrogen Really Making Your Belly FAT?
Article by Jenny May Clermont
One would think that with all the research done to try and link midlife weight gain in women to changing hormone levels (menopause) science would have uncovered, or at least theorized, a solid explanation by now. But after reading the results of study after study, all that research has only proven that weight gain is largely due to lower activity levels and poor nutrition.
So, scientists have now turned their attention to uncovering why many women in midlife start to accumulate that added weight as fat in the abdominal area. While fluctuating hormone levels, particularly lower estrogen levels, may be partially responsible for the redistribution of fat to the belly area, research is demonstrating that estrogen is not the only hormone responsible for this phenomenon.
It turns out that stress and stress related hormones have been linked to excessive fat storage around the abdominal area. How you ask? Apparently it’s a result of the flight or fight instinct that our distant ancestors were so dependent upon for survival.
During times of stress, mental or physical, the body releasescorticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH). This generates a release of the hormones adrenaline and cortisol.
The adrenaline released results in instant energy and increasedstrength. This is what allows people to do superhuman things, like the woman that lifts the car that fell on her son.
Meanwhile, cortisol is responsible for bringing the body back intobalance after the stressful event. In other words, cortisol’s job is to stimulate the appetite to replace the carbohydrates and fat that should of been burned while fleeing or fighting the stressful event. However, as most of you know, today’s sources of stress rarely result in calorie expenditure.
Stress today is more likely to result in people sitting with frustration or anger while reaching for something to eat. But the body doesn’t know that it did not expend any calories during the most recent stressful event. So cortisol is still expected to perform by increasing the appetite for carbohydrates and fat.
A study conducted by researchers at Yale University andpublished in the September 2000 issue of Psychosomatic Medicinesuggests that cortisol may actually cause fat to be stored in the center of the body. Couple that fact with the fact that the fat cells located in the belly area are richer with stress hormone receptors than fat cells located elsewhere and you have a recipe for abdominal obesity.
If the added belly fat is not distressing enough, it should also be noted that belly fat has been linked to an increased risk of developing heart disease.
Never fear, there is a way to combat belly fat generated from stress, it’s exercise. Exercise works to prevent belly fat generated from stress, by reducing the levels of stress hormones in your body. That’s right, vigorous exercise generates beta-endorphins. These endorphins are responsible for calming the body down and reducing the level of stress hormones in the body!
How much exercise does one need to combat belly fat in times of stress? I suggest 20-30 minutes of a physical activity you enjoy. Whether it be a 20-30 minute vigorous walk or a weight training session. Just so long as you get the body moving and releasing those beta-endorphins.
Of course exercise also helps to combat belly fat simply by burningcalories. This way when cortisol increases your appetite you will have expended the carbohydrate and fat calories during your workout.Allowing cortisol do its job and preventing those extra calories frombeing stored on your belly.
But do not go overboard, exercising too hard for too long can alsogenerate cortisol. This defeats the purpose of using exercise to combat cortisol and its belly fat generating affects.
So, the next time you start to get stressed out, instead of sitting and chewing food in your frustration, get up and take a 10 minute vigorous walk. This will help beat those stress hormones by releasing beta-endorphins and taking your mind off the thing stressing you out.
Tips for combating stressed out belly fat:
Exercise a minimum of 20-30 minutes 3 days a weekEat small balanced meals 5-6 times a daySnack on whole grain high fiber foodsSet time aside to do activities you enjoyAvoid excessive amounts of caffeine, alcohol & cigarettes, these items in excess have been shown to raise cortisol levels.Get your sleep, lack of sleep will also increase cortisol levels.By incorporating these tips you will be able to stop belly fat before it starts!

Get Rid Of That Dangerous Belly Fat!
Get Rid Of That Dangerous Belly Fat!
Article by Martin Stoleman
It is a proven fact that belly fat is the most dangerous kind of fat on the human body. We have all seen people who are overweight in just their stomach region and appear fit in every other place. It is a strange thing, isn’t it? It seems like we are all overweight somewhere or another, and while we all need to keep track of our weight and be proactive about maintaining a healthy lifestyle, those who carry extra belly fat need to be aware even more.
If you think about it, your belly is the area that holds most of your most important organs. Having extra weight in your legs or your hips doesn’t affect the functioning of any major organ, while carrying belly fat can really hinder the work of some of your body’s most important parts. Because it important that our organs work well, we want to do everything we can to protect them and not hinder their work.
I’ll often have clients come into my fitness club and tell me that their most annoying problem is the extra belly fat that they just cannot get rid of. I agree that their belly fat not only is annoying, but it is also dangerous. I am surprised by how few people know the dangers of belly fat, so I am always quick to share with them the facts. It only further increases their motivation to get rid of their extra belly fat.
Another large group of clients will come in with the firm belief that there is nothing they can do with their belly fat. They think that it is impossible to trim down, especially the older they get. As a personal fitness trainer, I am convinced that getting rid of belly fat not only is possible, but that it is important enough to be tackled regardless of how hard it is to accomplish.
Losing belly fat happens by a combination of consistent and directed exercise and a specfic diet. It is amazing how certain exercises are aimed specifically at reducing fat in certain areas of the body. Certain types of nutrition plans will also help to trigger excess fat in particular areas of the body.
If you have extra belly fat, you should be intentional about dealing with it. Make an appointment with a fitness trainer, a dietician or a physcian. Let someone help you get on the right track in dealing with your belly fat and making it history.

Gained weight at Beer College and you want to know how to get rid of belly fat?
Gained weight at Beer College and you want to know how to get rid of belly fat?
Article by Steve Gee
Gained weight at Beer College and you want to know how to get rid of belly fat?
I think that I must have gone to the same college as you did because I came away with a big beer gut as a bonus on my qualifications. It’s difficult to lose beer gut fat but not impossible. The trick is to take your time, cut out the alcohol or reduce it a lot, and take up something you enjoy that will provide regular exercise. The e-book Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle sets out an excellent and effective technique for doing this.
If you’re a beer belly girl or a beer belly boy you need to read this article because if you follow the suggestions you should eventually lose the beer belly fat, look a whole lot better, feel great and have more than a fighting chance of keeping your weight at a healthy level permanently.
What is beer belly fat?
There can be as much as 300 to 400 calories or more in one pint of beer. If you routinely drink 3 or more pints in a day then you could be consuming your entire daily calorie requirement in liquid form from the beer. If you then eat normally on top of that it’s no wonder that you gain weight and most of it goes on as fat around your waist and out front to form the familiar beer belly.
There is a simple rule that governs how much weight you gain or lose and it’s this: If you burn off more calories than you consume in food or drink then you will lose weight. If you consume more calories than you burn off with exercise then you will gain weight. All you have to do is balance your calorie intake with a good weight loss exercise program and you can be whatever weight you desire within reason. So why is it so difficult?
To reduce belly fat, exercise is required to burn it off
You need to exercise to lose belly fat but most people make the mistake of concentrating their efforts on strengthening the muscles around their middle and wonder why they see little or no improvement.
Targeted muscle building exercises like this are good for you to do but if you want to see the results you need to burn off the fat that has accumulated around your mid section with regular cardio exercises such as running or swimming.
When you exercise to get rid of belly fat what you are trying to do is burn more calories than you consume and when this happens your body will start to burn fat to compensate for the lack of calories in your food.
It’s not good to lose belly fat fast
It’s not good to lose weight quickly at all, not just belly fat. There are many fast weight loss diets going around that will take weight off quickly but they aren’t good for your body and it’s unlikely that you will keep your weight down permanently after you stop the diet.
Losing weight fast is generally accomplished by reducing your calorie intake to near starvation levels, which will take the weight off you very quickly. That isn’t the only thing that will happen however. Your body will lower your metabolism so that you burn calories slower because it isn’t expecting to get many.
You will start to burn lean muscle as well as fat, which will make you weak and skinny, and it will be difficult to build the muscle back again. Your appetite will also increase because your body wants you to eat.
None of this is good for you and it will make it extremely difficult for you to avoid putting the weight straight back on when the diet is over. To me that is just a waste of time and effort.
A better way of burning belly fat
Do it slowly. Aim to reduce your weight by 1 to 2 pounds a week and do it by using good nutrition and a weight loss exercise program. If you take this approach you will be able to burn away your beer belly fat while building up your muscles. You will look good, feel good and stand a much better chance of keeping your weight and your beer gut down permanently.

How To Lose Weight and Belly Fat
How To Lose Weight and Belly Fat
Article by Jennifer Carlson
For some people, belly fat is the most stubborn fat on their bodies, which is bad news, because medical research tells us that the most dangerous fat on the body is fat found around the abdomen, leading to an “apple” type shape. For this reason, anyone aiming to lose weight must focus not just on overall weight loss, but also on the loss of belly fat.
Belly fat is dangerous because it surrounds the organs and suffocates them, making them work harder and function less efficiently. For this reason, most overweight people need to lose weight and belly fat in order to regain full, healthy functioning.
For most of my adult life, I was overweight, and distressed that a lot of that extra weight sat around my midsection. For starters, it was unattractive. Many overweight women put on weight around their hips and thighs, or their busts, giving them a more curvy appearance, but not me. I just grew a big, fat ugly belly, and I hated it!
I did a lot of research to find the right plan that would enable me to lose weight and belly fat, preferably with that stubborn belly fat coming off easily! I used to do spot exercises like sit ups and crunches, but although my abdominal muscles became firmer, my belly fat stubbornly remained. Even regular aerobic exercise didn’t get rid of all my belly fat (although my belly did reduce).
It took quite a long time to find a plan that would really help me lose weight (and belly fat as well) and it was only successful because it was one I could stick with over the long term. The plan was The Mediterranean Diet. This diet worked for me because, for starters, I really enjoy Mediterranean food. It also worked because I never felt hungry while I was trying to lose weight and belly fat. Feeling hungry is one of the biggest reasons many diet plans fail and are so difficult for the average person to stick to. Another big factor in my success was that I felt satisfied at the end of a meal. Another challenge for many people trying to lose weight is that although they may feel full enough after eating, they don’t feel satisfied, and often crave other foods. If a meal leaves you feeling comfortably full and satisfied, and keeps you satisfied for some hours afterwards, you’re less likely to begin snacking or eating other inappropriate food.
Many people ask me if I lost weight quickly. The answer is yes and no. For starters, you have to ask yourself what it means to lose weight quickly. For me, it was losing between one and two pounds in an average week. That sort of weight loss is both noticeable and measurable, and is also realistic. Some people have followed this diet and lost much more (up to 20 or 30 pounds a month). Quite often, though, this sort of weight loss is achieved by people with a lot of weight to lose (and usually only occurs during the first month) and by people suffering from water retention. Following a healthy, nutritious diet often leads to a reduction in water retention, and thus a seemingly rapid weight loss. However, it’s important to remember that this is weight loss, not fat loss. To really lose body fat, and keep it off, it’s good to stick to a comfortable weight loss of around a pound or two a week.
Finally, many people ask me if this diet will work for them. The truth is, I don’t know. I do know that many people have successfully followed this plan to lose weight, but there are no doubt many who failed. As I’ve mentioned previously, if you enjoy the food, you’ll probably be able to stick to a diet plan, so if you like Mediterranean food, then give it a try, if you don’t, then maybe you’ll find your weight loss success somewhere else.

Lose Belly Fat – Are You Messing Up These 2 Crucial Factors?
Lose Belly Fat – Are You Messing Up These 2 Crucial Factors?
Article by Tom Gifford
Have you been trying to lose belly fat but ended been failing over and over again? If so, there is a good chance you making some simple mistakes.
In order for you body to burn fat, it has to be in a “fat burning” state. This article will show you the 2 main ways to lose belly fat.
1. Increase Your Metabolism
What exactly is metabolism? It is your body’s ability to burn calories. If you have a high metabolism, your body burns lots of calories. If you have a low metabolism, your body will not burn as many.
The most important thing you can do to raise your metabolism is to add muscle. To most people, adding muscle to burn fat sounds counterintuitive. The truth is, muscle burns calories like a car burns gas. The more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn, and the more belly fat you will lose.
The best way to raise your metabolism is by exercise. There are two great ways to do this. The first one is strength training, and the other is interval training.
Strength training adds muscle. Don’t worry about getting “big and bulky”. This only happens when you train very specifically with diet and exercise. Strength training will add lean muscle mass, which will burn more calories at rest and while being active. Who doesn’t want to burn fat while at rest? Strength training is one of the best ways to lose belly fat.
Interval training is different from traditional cardio in the sense that it incorporates alternating between high and low intensities. For example, you could get on a stationary bike and go for 2 minutes slow and 1 minute fast, then repeat 3-6 times. This is a basic interval training structure. This is better than regular “same speed” cardio because it really works your body hard!
During those intense minutes, you are stimulating your body to raise its metabolism for hours after you are done exercising. Just like with strength training, you are making your body burn calories after you are done exercising. This is a must when trying to lose belly fat.
2. Create a Caloric Deficit
This is all done by diet! You would be surprised to know just how many calories you actually consume per day. You can keep a food log and then analyze it with this free website:
www.fitday.com
Remember that there are 3,500 calories in 1 lb. If you cut back by just 500 calories per day, then over the course of 1 week you have lost 1 lb of fat. The problem area is that a lot of times we underestimate the number of calories in the foods we eat. Once you understand this, you will lose belly fat quicker than ever.
Another way you can use diet to lose belly fat is by eating a lot of fiber. Fiber is very hard for your body to break down. Your body actually uses calories to help break down fiber during digestion. This is one of those foods that “burn fat” and increases your metabolism. Small changes like this will help you lose belly fat.
Cutting back on bad carbs is also a great way to lose belly fat. When consuming bad carbs such as sugar, white bread, junk food, etc., your blood sugar gets very high. When you have high blood sugar, your body releases insulin to store it as fat. If you consume good carbs such as fiber, brown rice, and whole wheat pasta, your blood sugar does not spike as high, and in turn not as much is stored as fat.
If you follow these tips, you will synergistically turn your body into a fat burning machine that will make you lose belly fat in no time.
Good luck to you and remember to keep learning and stay persistent. The effort to lose belly fat does not have to be slow and frustrating!

Get Rid of Belly Fat Fast: 3 Deadly Things You Must Know When You Are Trying To Lose Belly Fat.
Get Rid of Belly Fat Fast: 3 Deadly Things You Must Know When You Are Trying To Lose Belly Fat.
Article by Abi Shaan
How many days more do you want to go by where you wake up every morning and look at the mirror just to see that overhanging belly that never seems to go in?
Have you ever wished to just chop if off once and for all?
How many times have you got upset when you couldn’t buy a nice pair of jeans that fits your size?
You need to forget the idea of a thousand of crunches. I bet that even if you do a million crunches, you are going to get the same slow result as doing a hundred crunches. So don’t waste your time and energy in something that simple won’t work.
Getting flat abs is every man and woman’s dream, in their consciousness or at least in their sub consciousness. And that dream of yours can very soon become a reality if you follow the following steps I have outlined in a simple and easy to follow system.
# You need to think big.
If you are working to get rid of belly fat ONLY, then you have to understand that every time you lose a pound of fat in your belly, another pound of fat falls into your belly from another part of your body.
This shows that you have excess fat. And if this is the case, you can’t get rid of belly fat by simple ab crunches. You need to work on getting rid of fat from all over your body. This means, you need to do more resistance training that works your entire body.
# You need resistance training.
Since you goal is to get rid of belly fat FAST, the best exercises to perform are ones that can turn your body into fat burning blowtorch. And what are these exercises called? Compound Exercises.
Compound exercises, to be simply put, are single exercises that target many muscle groups all at once.
Example: The Famous “Pushup”, targets the biceps, triceps, chest, back, shoulders, and the abs.The Powerful “Dead lift”, targets the thighs, quads, buns, abs, core, traps.
Let’s compare:
Bicep Curl targets the biceps.Tricep Kickback targets the triceps.Leg Press targets the quads.
You can get a hardcore fat loss workout in less than 10 minutes if you choose the right compound exercises.
If you want to get rid of belly fat fast, you need resistance training, and the fastest resistance training exercises that can speed up the goal to losing belly fat and getting that nice set of abs is compound exercises.
# You need a proper Diet and Nutrition plan.
Did you know that diet and nutrition accounts for 80% of your body fat system? If you want to get rid of belly fat fast, then you need to:
=> Eat more often, a minimum of 6 short meals a day.
=> Have a portion of lean protein in every meal. This could be a protein shake, chicken breast etc…
=> Eat breakfast like a king, and dinner like a peasant. This means, you need to eat less in your dinner than you eat in your other meals.
=> Like parents always say, always eat your green vegetables.
=> Try to have a glass of green tea after every meal. This helps control your hunger.
=> Drink a minimum of 10 glasses a day.
=> Keep sugar levels low, but not too low, you need a little sugar to keep your system active. No wonder eating too many chocolates makes us hyper active.
=> Never let yourself to starve. This trigger’s fasting inside your system, and starts storing more fat instead of burning them.
If you want to get rid of belly fat, then you really have to follow the diet and nutrition plan. It is the most important of all factors. Even if you skip the first three factors, Diet and nutrition can help you achieve 80% of your fat loss goal.
So, to sum it up, three things are crucial if you want to get rid of belly fat fast. You need to lose fat from all over your body, perform more compound exercises, and an optimized diet and nutrition plan.

How To Lose Your Belly Fat Fast
How To Lose Your Belly Fat Fast
Article by Karl Warren
Belly fat, belly fat, belly fat! Everybody (and every body) wants it gone and gone now! But how do you get rid of it? What’s the best way to get rid of it? Is it even possible to get rid of it and keep it off?
Yes, it’s possible and people like you and me are doing it every day. And it’s not difficult at all. As a matter of fact, you probably already know what you need to do to lose your belly fat fast but you just haven’t been doing it. Maybe you lack motivation to do it; maybe you never saw the quick results you wanted to see, who knows why you stopped. Only you do.
But let’s start over and take a look at some of the key elements that we need to lose belly fat fast, starting today, ok?
How often are you eating? Are you eating 2 or 3 large meals a day, usually waiting until you feel like you’re starving before you eat?
Stop doing that. One of the best ways to lose that belly fat fast is to eat 5 to 6 small meals throughout the day, usually every three hours. Why? This helps to keep your metabolism elevated and your metabolism is one of the key components to burning fat period. It’ll be burning fat even when you’re not exercising, so you want to keep your metabolism high as often as possible and eating smaller meals more often is a great way to do that.
What kind of foods are you eating? Are you eating too much of them?
Look, we all wish that our diets could simply consist of cake and ice cream (I love caramel turtle fudge ice cream myself), but the fact of the matter is that it can’t; at least not all of the time. Since you’re going to eat and eat often, why not let what you eat help you to lose your belly fat as well?
How? Glad you asked! Foods that help you to burn belly fat naturally are whole wheat foods, fresh vegetables, fruits like apples, oranges, and bananas (uncanned and natural), skim milk, chicken, turkey and other lean meats, seafood, and even egg whites. That list doesn’t look to bad, now does it?
Are you exercising? If so, how often and what are you doing?
Too many people rely solely on sit-ups or crunches to lose their belly fat. This type of exercise is called spot reduction and it’s been proven to be very ineffective in helping people to lose their belly fat. When you exercise, try to focus on large muscle groups and cardio exercises. You’ll find that by working the larger muscle groups of your body will give you better metabolic results for a longer period of time. Better metabolic results equals more natural fat burning which equals losing more belly fat fast.
It’s not hard to lose your belly fat fast. Stay focused on more frequent smaller meals, eating foods that naturally help you to burn fat, and don’t focus on only doing crunches or sit-ups. By staying consistent with these three principles, you’ll shave off that belly fat in now time.

The secret of how to get rid of belly fat is…..there is no secret! That’s right – no secret! There is no magical pill that is going to melt the fat of your stomach, and there is no special diet that is going to give you six-pack abs.
Those exercise classes you signed up for? You never even went to the classes, so how can you complain about them not working? You were lazy and decided to take the easy way out and cheat by taking those fat burner pills instead.
And what about those exercise programs you bought? Most of them are just hype, just clever advertising with lots of amazing before and after pictures to dazzle and seduce you. See, the fitness gurus realize that most people will purchase these programs and then do nothing with them because they are lazy and would rather take a pill than break a sweat.
So instead of putting together a program that really produces results, these fitness gurus put all of their efforts into marketing and advertising. They know that most people purchase these programs on an emotional whim and never actually use them. So they don’t bother creating programs that actually do what they claim to do.
And when a fitness guru comes along that actually does come out with a program that works, that really does produce the results it promises to, people ignore them! Why? Because they don’t promise magical, overnight results. They tell you flat out that you will have to work hard to achieve the results that you want, so you skip right over them to the next hyped up product that promises amazing results without the hard work.
Bottom line, if you truly want to lose belly fat quick, you are going to have to stop looking for a magic cure and start getting serious about exercise. There is no secret to how to get rid of belly fat other than being disciplined enough to maintain a healthy diet and properly exercise on a daily basis.
